AWESOME spumoni cake!!!

Best spumoni anything I've ever had. Chocolate, cherry, and pistachio flavors were distinct and very good.

VERY rich and moist cake.

Very buttery icing. Only a little granulated sugar hadn't quite dissolved in the icing. Not a bad thing necessarily, but doesn't seem quite right in the creamy icing.

My family couldn't stop eating it. Bro-in-law said if he wouldn't get fat doing it he'd eat that cake everyday for the rest of his life and never get bored with it. And the rest of us nodded in agreement despite the fact that not all of us are sweet-tooths.

Looking forward to trying their other goodies!

• Cons: granulated sugar in the butter-cream icing noticeable

cupcakes to die for

Magpies has moved to their new location at 846 North Central, Knoxville TN 37917. The cupcakes come in 2 sizes-mini and regular and in 3 flavor categories-classic, deluxe, and super deluxe. The classic are chocolates and vanillas; the deluxe include red velvet, strawberry cream, and coconut; the super deluxe change monthly and have included chocolate Guinness stout, key lime pie, and almond apricot. The motto "All butter, all the time" is SO true. Everything is made from scratch-no mixes here. The buttercream is real butter--no shortening to be found. It's impossible to not fall in love.
