My all occasion favorite!

by monkzardo at Citysearch

I love the draft beer happy hour everyday. The beers are consistently good and made in house. The menu has a huge variety and I've never had anything there that wasn't great. My favorites are the homemade salsa, the burgers and the Cajun Chicken Pasta. I often meet friends here for drinks or dinner. The only thing I don't really like is that they won't seat you until at least half of your party is there and I've ended up on a waiting list before.

Very disappointed!!!!!

by tlh3333 at Citysearch

No longer a fan!!!! Had a bad experience with a rude bartender that was not even my server and talked to a manager that was totally unconcerned about the situation.

I will not recommend the place again!!!!!

Overrated...

by MemphisCrimeFighter at Citysearch

I am in Knoxville this week for a week long professional course and decided to try out the well known Downtown Grille & Brewery on 12-01-09, which just happens to be my 33rd birthday. We had fairly high expectations based on the reputation. The atmosphere is very cool and appealing, but the food was quite poor while the service was friendly but less than satisfactory. My brother and I both ordered their specialty steaks, and both were overcooked and tougher than any steak that we had previously consumed anywhere in the past. The steaks seemed comparable to a steak that one might get at an all-you-can-eat buffet at Barnhills or Ryan's Steak House buffet. The beer was fair, not terrible but not good either. Our waiter did not even ask us once if we were enjoying our meal, so maybe he knew better than to ask??? We were very disappointed in our experience, and we are not picky customers, to say the least... We will not return.

  • Pros: Atmosphere
  • Cons: Terrible Food

My favorite new restaurant/bar

by BethTipton at Citysearch

My girlfriend and I visited the DGB tonight, and met an extremely bright, unbelievably pleasant young man named Mark, who was nothing short of exemplary as a server. Our entire experience tonight was quite enjoyable, from the mouth-watering prime ribs we ate down to the amazing service we received. If you decide to visit the restaurant, I would recommend you request Mark as your server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, as well as immensely efficient. We never waited for drink refills, which was fantastic due to the quality of beer served. He was also very adept at all of the trivia we were spouting back and forth with each other. Everything was above-and-beyond, and we will definitely visit again.
