Tips for Panera Bread

August 16, 2008

Fresh-baked goods, fresh-brewed coffee and creative sandwiches served up in relaxed, roomy surroundings.. In Short
Bright colors and comfortable furniture give this chain cafe a laid-back feel, with scattered tables that beckon coffee-sipping readers, chatters and diners. All baked goods--bagels, muffins, two dozen kinds of bread--are made fresh on the premises. Sandwiches include turkey-artichoke panini and Asiago roast beef, plus standards like chicken salad and smoked turkey. Soups change daily, but popular choices like broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle and French onion are always on the menu.

fresh. not sure where the previous reviewer got their incorrect facts from but the breads at panera breads are fresh and never frozen. spend some time in the cafe and you will see transports come in daily from atlanta. That is fresh dough that was prep'd at the fresh dough facility and never frozen. The dough is then baked in store by our bakers.

Paying for the atmosphere. Quality is not there.. Panera has a good selection for lunch, however, the quality of their frozen breads and bagels is less that of their local competitors. Panera's has become just like every other franchise with shipped in frozen or par baked (half-baked) products (i.e. Bruegger's Bagels). They claim "baked fresh daily" but so can Bruegger's. Once you have tried a local made from scratch bread or bagel you will avoid going back.
