A busy place in the late evening just about every day!. Being one of aging hipsters who likes a little classic rock on the Jukebox, can smoke when I want and no sports on the tube makes this place a favorite of mine and a lot of people who like a big selection of Draft Beers and friendly people! Come in later and the place gets crowded just about every night with 21 to 35 yr olds. No complaints with the exception that most of the food is fried. Great inexpensive wings! A popular area of downtown and safer than it looks. Best Patio in town for people watching! I have to give it four Stars just because of the diverse crowd of people that they seem to keep happy!
caters to the lowest common denominator.
The single star is only because this site requires it. Urban doesn't deserve ANY stars. The drinks are inconsistent in quality, the servers only wait on the regulars, the bathrooms are nasty, and the clientele on the whole is even worse than the bathrooms: a bunch of aging hipsters in too-tight jeans playing bad music on the jukebox. One server became overtly confrontational with my friend because the waiter had missed the fact that my friend had given a very generous tip with the last round of drinks he'd bought, and therefore had not tipped with the subsequent round of drinks. (Nevermind that this server had done nothing to deserve any tip, period, considering that we'd had to actually chase him through the bar to order our drinks.) This server actually shouted at us in front of other patrons.
I gave Urban one more chance and was pestered all night by a disgustingly drunk guy trying aggressively to talk to me. When I complained to the management, absolutely nothing was done about the guy, who was one of the regulars and a known alcoholic and ex-con, and the owner refused to allow one of the bouncers to walk me out. I walked to my car that night fearing for my safety. I have since talked to other female friends who say that this bar is a "boys' club", which is probably why the male patrons get better service than the female ones, and why the female bartenders dress in such a degrading manner. I will never return to this bar. You couldn't pay me enough.
Worst customer service ever. This was a bar we had heard good things about. We arrived and were treated like dirt on the soles of their shoes. We attempted to order drinks and were told that our pub crawl was not welcome in their bar. I believe that they were just not interested in working that soon after opening, and created whatever excuse they could find to get rid of us. .
