Tips for Nama Sushi Bar

Great Sushi. If you want the best Tempura or California roll in Knoxville, visit Nama. Worth it's "wait," the downtown setting creates the hip vibe you crave. Affordable and delectable, it is "the" place for a wonderful dinner with friends, family or just that special someone.

DELICIOUS. Nama is my handsdown favorite sushi place in tennessee. It has GREAT sushi.... so fresh! I've eaten the calamari and the shrimp and crab dip, both were ammmmazing. Nama is very muuch the cool sushi place to go, very hip. I have never had a bad experience, sometimes the wait can be a little long but other than that it is a must if you are in knoxville. I crave this place all the time. Its a little pricey but worth it. Also, complimentary valet parking!

Mmmmmm!. Fresh. Mouthwatering. Soft. Sensual. These are words I thought of when I experienced my plate of goodies. The texture was amazing and the presentation was nicely done.

How did it taste? Wow. Fresh ingredients matter.

Menu? Great variety for food AND drink. I decided that a small saki is enough for one person... ;-)

Price? Probably a couple more dollars more than I was expecting to pay. But boy, the quality is worth the price. Another review explained that you can get similar quality for a bit less, but I wasn't really deterred by the price once I tasted my Tokyo roll.

Did I get to go upstairs? No. But, it only holds 16 people, so that didn't really surprise me. Upstairs looks really quaint, and I got a kick out of the idea that it has its own separate entrance. Anyhow, I eventually got a booth on the main level.

How long did I wait? Oh, well, I ended up there at 8PM on a Saturday night and was faced with a 30-min wait. I could have sat at the sushi bar right away, but I really wanted a booth that night. There's no waiting area in the restaurant, so I took a walk.

Service? Wonderful and attentive. Nice touch to a cozy place.

Best I've ever had.... My husband and I had just moved to the area. We were craving sushi in a bad way. We happened upon the restaurant's website. I was not impressed by what I saw on the site and was not terribly keen on going. After a little convincing from my husband, we ended up trying it out.

OH - WAS I WRONG ABOUT THIS PLACE.

When we arrived the place was packed! It is a small but cute place with fun and hip music. The place didn?t really have an Asian feel to it. If we didn?t know it was a sushi place, our only clue would have been chopsticks and Saki on some of the tables. All the seats in the place are seated by a hostess in a first come first served manner. I think there is a cool little bar upstairs. We never got to see it because we were seated quickly.

We sat at the main bar and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. There is a great wine and beer selection. Our server was great and assisted us with many of our selections. We were a tad wary of not having the slip of paper to mark our selections, but Tony (our server) remembered everything perfectly.

The food was absolutely incredible. The best and freshest sushi I have ever eaten. I guess they add their own flair to the food because every bite did not taste like the seaweed holding it together.

My husband and I have eaten Sushi all over and never has it been this great! We plan to go again this weekend.

Absolutely outstanding!. Not just ordinary sushi, this place elevates it to a work of art. My wife and I love sushi, and we've been to some excellent places in our old home cities of Portland, OR and Seattle, WA, both famous for their sushi joints. Well, I have to say that NAMA is better than any I've been to before. Absolutely outstanding, and if you love sushi, you have to try NAMA. The ambience is trendy and modern/urban, but manages to be cozy and romantic at the same time. The nigri and rolls are very fresh, generous in size, and each dish is a work of art to look at. The bill was reasonable, a bit expensive but definitely worth it!
