An Oak Ridge tradition. You haven't really eaten in Oak Ridge until you have experienced the Magic Wok. Half the town simply calls it "Betty's" after the owner. The food is great and cheap, and served up with a smile. A national landmark.

The atmosphere would politely be described as funky. Indeed, it looks like a hole in the wall. Patrons serve themselves drinks from 2-liter bottles passed around from table to table, spices in a morter and pestal are also shared, and the menu selection is limited to the four woks Betty has cooking at a time.

Friday is Thai food day, especially popular.

Go to the window, or go inside, and call out your order when you can get their attention. It is worth the effort. The red building with an awning is small inside, but there are tables in the backroom.
