Editorial Review for Outback Steakhouse – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

Having lived in Australia, I would have to say that the outback is a great reminder of the place I call "home." The decor and atmosphere were relaxed and inviting. I had the mouth-watering lamb and my man had a big, juicy slab of steak. A warm loaf of honey-wheat bread was served to whet the appetite. Then came the yummy salad which had grated cheese added for you cheese lovers...the main meal was on the large side with hearty portions and juicy, tender meat. I happened to try their banana-nut tini (bailey's,banana liquer, and some other stuff...VERY nice!). The service was great for the most part, except it was a little hard to find our server floating around, and the meals were prompt, averaging between $14-16.00. As for the wait...only about 5-10 min. max and this was friday night! A great birthday present from a great man!

Pros: great table service, comfortable atmospher, hardly any wait

Cons: , busy, on the high side

The food was awesome, the steaks were cooked just like we wanted them, and our waitress was the best! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of, without interrupting our meal to see if we needed anything.
