Tips for Naples Italian Restaurant

Food is nothing special, but good service.. Totally nothing special. I'm married to a second generation Italian, so we know what Italian food is supposed to taste like and this isn't it. The food was too heavy and strongly flavored. The bread was not heavy enough. The atmosphere was predictable - red checked tablecloths and dim lighting. The best thing was the young waiter who was so eager to have us enjoy our meal once he found out it was our first visit. We left him a nice tip, but we won't be back.

Outstanding Food...,Cozy Atmosphere. Forget whatever else you may have heard, this place is fabulous. My wife and I have been frequenting this spot for a few years now and plan to continue to do so indefinitely. The food is wonderful; try the specials and don't forget to make a reservation as this spot is often very busy. Naples has a spectacular wine list, as well.

This ain't Italian. I grew up in New Jersey. I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like and this ain't it.

On our first and last visit both my wife were disappointed. The sausage tastes like a breakfast sauage, the lasagna have far too much basil and was overcooked, the sauce was watery, and the house chianti swill.

Red and white checkered tableclothes and dim lighting can't make up for the food.

If you want seafood, go somewhere else.. Naples is a nice, romantic little restaurant. I ordered the seafood alfredo. For those who expect seafood, be warned: it should be called scallop alfredo. It comes with only 2 pieces of shrimp and still costs a whopping $15. It came with a side of mushrooms, straight from the can. Why they would give you a side of mushrooms when your dish already has mushrooms, I don't know.

Good Food!. Great food and ambiance but be prepared to wait. This place is likely the best Italian to be found in Knoxville and it seems everyone knows it. Usually very busy on weekends especially and the service tends to be a little slow as a result. Once you get your food you'll agree that it was worth the wait.
