Go when someone else is paying. I've been to the Orangery at least 10 times, but only when I'm on expense account. This may sound cavalier, but I believe it's one of two ways to enjoy it. The other is if they are hosting a fixed price wine dinner. The food is stupendous, but the portions are, shall I say, petite. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy. The wine, of course, is brutally expensive. So if you have deeeeeep pockets, or an expense account, live it up and enjoy. Otherwise, you're going take a bite of a scallop and think - that bite was $10.00. I could have had 4 barbecue sandwiches from Buddies.....
