Amazing home style food at Wright's cafeteria. We finally had an opportunity to eat at Wright's after three failed attempts because we were to late. As someone else stated their hours are rather limited but obviously target the clientele they are seeking.

Actually, they were closed when we showed up the last time but they were gracious enough to make a carry out lunch for us. We took our meal to a nearby park and enjoyed it immensly. It was a beautiful day for a picnic and the chicken was great picnic food.

The chicken was fried perfectly and tasted delicious. The okra was crisp and not soggy with oil. We had excellent salads and the deserts were fabulous. The chocolate pie tasted like my mother used to make and the coconut was the best I have ever tasted.

I would recommend Wrights to anyone that just wants a homestyle meal with no frills.

My son lives in Gatlinburg ,so I now will plan my visits around a stop at Wright's for lunch before going to Gatlinburg.

No credit card signs prominently displayed. From the front door to all through the line. This is an old fashioned place with old fashioned food. They can decide not to be a part of the homogenous Applebee's culture by serving old fashioned food and not paying surcharges to credit card companies if they so desire.

The food is terrific, the people running the line EXTREMELY friendly, the atmosphere would seem to be (delightfully) unchanged since at least the mid-1970's, the line is long since the food is good and the patrons are loyal, and the no credit card policy delivered in the low tech way evident in every other aspect of their business - IN PERSON. It's the world's worst kept secret, from the complete LACK of credit card logos anywhere on their front doors or windows, to the mutiple signs saying "no credit cards" from the front door to the middle of the line.

Have CASH or Check Book to eat here and plenty of.... Wished the website information about this cafeteria was correct! We waited almost 30 minutes in line to find out that this restaurant ONLY accepts CASH and CHECKS! No Visa or MC please! :( So, needless to say, we left...unable to eat.

GOOD COUNTRY COOKIN'. I have only been to this place once. i will definitely be going back time and time again. The food is good country cookin'. The staff is very friendly (southern hospitality) and the environment is very relaxing and full of life at the same time due to all the people packed inside. And why wouldn't they be because we all love some good southern cookin'. Just make sure you know the hours as they are limited. But it is so worth the trip, the wait and the overall experience. Great for all ages and group types, i.e.-family, friends, couples etc.
