An electronics store with competitive prices and friendly service..
In Short
Circuit City offers a good but not overwhelming selection. Showrooms are medium in size, just enough to display the brand names customers know and respect, such as Hewlett-Packard and Sony. The store carries car and home audio equipment, television accessories (even satellite TV and broadband), cameras, computers and computer accessories, and music and movies. The staff is knowledgeable, but not annoyingly passionate about printing cartridges. When a product does not function correctly, customers can take it to the on-site service center.
Store does not honor warranty, management said so..
WARNING - Warranty does not apply to faulty products and management is not concerned. Do not buy from this store. I purchased a Seagate Hard drive, they installed it, I paid over $300. Two months later it crashed. They originally said that I had a two year warranty on labor and one year on the hard drive. I spoke to the manager at the North Peters location today (Jan. 12, 2008), He informed me that they do not warranty the labor (I have to pay for labor again), and I have to go to the manufacturer myself to "maybe get the hard drive" warranty. I felt like these people were dodging me. I would not recommend this particular Circuit City to my worst enemy. There are plenty other stores in Knoxville, give your money to someone else. This is a sorry excuse for a retail store and they are not serving Knoxville, they are ripping us off.
Notes: Very bad customer service. Worthless product. Does not honor warranty (second time, had same issue with a camera a couple of years ago - thank God Kodak backs their product).
