EXCELLENT REPAIR JOB!!!

by volfanforlife

PLEASE READ!! My husband and I are both physicians in Knoxville (KCC never knew this BTW). We are very detailed oriented. My husband also once worked as a quality control manager at a large body shop and when we read the reviews of KCC- we almost decided not to take our car to be repaired here. I AM GLAD WE DID. However, our relatives in Knoxville have had their car repaired four times in FOUR years at KCC (yes, very unfortunate for them!) and they had nothing but positive things to say about the service and job they received. We went ahead and had KCC repair our car and we are both VERY pleased with the job. I truly wonder if some OTHER body shop is doing fake reviews? Seriously. I have learned that when reviews are this incongruous- all one's or five's and nont much in between- that someone MAY be trying to give the "product" a bad name? Well... in any case, in my experience, I was called two times with an update about the car- was given a price quote at the beginning and was charged ONLY that. The repair was done spotlessly. My husband will notice a VERY minor scratch on my car and he thought it was perfect. The color was spot on. The car runs as well as it did before. There are no complaints from me. The other customers in the waiting room were satisfied with their service as well when receiving their cars. I would recommend this repair shop hands down.

Horrible Work and Horrible Owner

by tngardengirl

I have had two occasions to have my car repaired at KCC. The repair work was done as per my insurance company's recommendation. The car was so poorly repaired that I have tried to trade in on three occasions and can not get rid of it because of the body work. The paint job was detected even by a person just walking by, because they forgot to repaint the mirror so it does not match. The apron was "repaired" though I fear that if I am involved in another collision the car will not withstand a collision. The car will not stay in alignment and it is due to the accident. They didn't even check to see if that tire and wheel were damaged during the initial repair until I started losing air every day. The owner is such a condescending person. Don't be fooled by the Bible laying around and the biblical connotations. He certainly doesn't practice what he preaches. Basically, due to their shoddy work, I have a car that has lost approximately $7,000 in it's book value. I wouldn't take my kid's bike there for repair. And don't be fooled, Nationwide Insurance is not on your side! They must be business partners with KCC.

Condescending mechanic

by ratlsnk60

I had to get my Cadillac repaired and took it to Knoxville Collision Center. The mechanic looked the car over and worked up one quote but forgot to include a repair, so I made him do a new quote. He told me it would take approximately 3 weeks. The entire driver's side of the car needed body work due to being sideswiped. When I went to pick it up, the mechanic brought me around to the passenger's side of the car to show me what they fixed. When I told him that they were supposed to fix the driver's side of the car, he looked it up in his notes and agreed. When he showed me the driver's side of the car, I noticed some spots on the trim. When I questioned him about the spots, he went in and got a rag and tried to rub them off. Then I noticed one spot on the trim was peeling. When I pointed that out, he got a bottle of touch up paint, touched up the spot and said if my husband wanted it repainted, we could bring it back, and then gave me the bottle of touch up paint. I assured him we would be bringing the car back. After getting the car home, I noticed when I got out of the car that the radio wouldn't shut off. After manually shutting my radio off, I tried to lock the car with my keyless entry and manually but the driver's door wouldn't lock at all. As I left for work the next morning, my dash lights wouldn't come on. After getting to work, I contacted Knoxville Collision Center. They told me to bring the car back so they could look at it. Turns out, the wiring harness hadn't been hooked up but the mechanic said the "safety wire" had "fallen off". Excuse me but the "safety wire" is supposed to be a ground wire for the actual wiring harness, more or less, and if the "safety wire" falls off, it shouldn't make a difference in the operation of the vehicle. In essence, they didn't hook up the wiring harness and they knew it before I ever got into the car because they had to unlock the car to bring it to me, and the keyless entry wasn't working. .

  • Pros: Clean waiting room
  • Cons: If you're a woman, you get treated like an idiot.
